Carbon Capture and Storage

Darrah Oil has an advanced knowledge base in storing CO2. This combined with its operational expertise puts it in a unique position to soon be the leader in this fast growing industry.

How we will capture & store carbon

Enhanced Oil Recovery (Class II)

Using Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) we can increase the oil production of depleted fields while also safely storing CO2.

Step #1

Locate Oil Well

Find an almost entirely depleted oil well in close proximity to a CO2 producer.

Step #2

Inject CO2 into well

Inject the CO2 produced nearby into the oil reservoir via a CO2 injection well.

Step #3

Additional Oil Recovery

The injected CO2 pushes the oil closer to the wellhead, yielding more oil while in-turn safely storing CO2.

Why Class II CO2 Injection?

In Kansas, the state can issue Class II injection permits, typically processed within 1-2 months. In contrast, Class VI permits, exclusively granted by the EPA, require a significantly longer period, often spanning 2-3 years. Prioritizing Class II permits will enable a swifter expansion of our operations.
